I'm planning my second hike and its going for 4 days. the first time we had the food taken care of for us but this time i have to do it by myself.
Does this menu seem adequate for 5 people to have, were young, pretty healthy and are going to be doing easy to medium grade hiking.
Menu:
(Snacks will be supplied for the whole duration of the hike including: nuts, dried fruit, chocolate and lollies, muesli bars and biscuits)
EACH PERSON MUST CARRY AT LEAST 3-4 LITRES OF WATER PER DAY!
Day 1 – Saturday:
Lunch – sandwiches/wraps with lettuce, boiled egg, tomato, cheese, cucumber or tuna.
Dinner – spaghetti bolognaise (trangier style).
Day 2 – Sunday:
Breakfast – Nutrigrain (packed in small packets) with small UHT milks.
Lunch – Sandwiches/wraps with vegemite, peanut butter, nutella or tuna/chicken in a can.
Dinner - stir-fry with beans, capsicum, carrot, zucchini, celery, brown rice, salt and oil.
Day 3 – Monday:
Breakfast – 2 minute porridge satchels (cooked on trangiers)
Lunch – saladas with vegemite or sandwiches with vegemite, peanut butter, nutella or tuna/chicken in a can. (Whichever is preferred?)
Dinner – Easy Mac and cheese or other fast cooking noodle packets (NO 2 MINUTE NOODLES, these are neither filling nor nutritious) I will gather peoples preferences and purchase the decided packets.
Day 4 – Tuesday:
Breakfast – Nutrigrain in small zip lock bags and small UHT milks.
Lunch – Sandwiches with tuna, vegemite, peanut butter or nutella.
