Does this describe your work place?

When asked how work at Ex-co was going, a former coworker responded with this...

i use dilbert as a reminder why i should never work in offices.. i occasionally go in one and the situation seems to be getting worse each time.
i'm not claiming to be superior, i'm sure i could make a lot more money if i sat in a box all day but i just can't do it, i prefer being outside.

Same here, though I do work in an office. That's gonna change though. I'm sick of this shit. Enough is enough. I don't get paid enough to sit here for 8 hours a day picking belly button lint.

wow the navy.. anyone find their slogan 'accellerate your life' as disturbing as i do? the logical conclusion to accellerating my life would presumably be death?

Stupidity and bad supervisors is something you will encounter everywhere, not just office jobs. If you haven't yet, then you probably haven't been working for very long.

My job can be like that at times, but we have a good IT manager and our bosses let him do his thing. Our last IT manager was some clueless douche with an MBA; he fucked up our shop time after time. Thank god he's gone.

Personally, I prefer to "work smarter rather than harder."(just an old saying, no offense to anyone) I see no reason to bust my ass in the sun all day when I can pay my bills by sitting in an air conditioned office all day. I like what I do though, and I couldn't see myself doing anythign else. Office politics can be annoying, but it's something you take with a grain of salt.
Haha, don't try to over analyze it man it's just a stupid slogan. It just means "join up and we'll give you work experience that will help you get a job easier and faster." Although military experience definitely isn't what it once was...

i know only too well, which is why after twenty years of superiors treating me like a mate one minute and a used condom the next i chose self employment, doing something i'm over qualified for but with zero to little stress.

I've been working since I was 17, 3 years ago.

I've had 4 different jobs, and all my supervisors have been pretty good.

Maybe that's because I rarely saw them. :happysad:

Office jobs rock, it's all about getting a good supe. I've discovered the key to office jobs is having vacation. Whenever I start to get annoyed I take a four day weekend and come back happy.
