If it does, then are we in control of what happens?
If it does not, then what does the universe run on?
* By earth science, I mean the "laws" and theories that we have developed to explain how things work.
This is being posted to the religion section to allow for religious responses.
It is interesting that when a question of this nature is asked, that we don't see the usual responses from most Christians, etc.
I openly admit that the question is not posted to the correct forum, but I wanted people who have some kind of religious philosophy by which they live, respond. Naturally, very few did.

I don't have an answer, but I agree that we don't define the rules. We set up theories (earth science) to help us explain and understand what is going on, but the universe has a mind of its own.
