Chicago allow Children in? I'm going to Chicago for the weekend with my kids and my co-worker says this is a great way to see Chicago. I'd like to do it but I don't want to wait in line with a 3 year old and a 1 year old.
My college is positive that she's seen kids there, but I've checked the website and it looks pretty upscale. I don't want to go somewhere that wouldn't welcome the kids. I don't intend to eat at the restaurant because I've seen the menu-more then I want to spend. And I called twice the line was busy. I'll try again later.
Finally got through- FYI- Children are allowed on the 96th floor (the lounge) before 6pm.

I think you should call them and ask the following
1) Are kids even allowed
2) How family friendly is it really?
3) How often are kids in there?

If they are welcoming, and it is a really touristy place, why not? It could be a lot of fun...but the other side of the coin?
This:
Some places are adult places for a reason, and the regulars, and adults that are there (especially drinking) are not exactly thrilled when people bring young children into an environment where they are trying to relax, and enjoy the view. This miscalculation of the environment ends up pissing everyone off. If the place is about atmosphere, it is pretty inconsiderate to bring young kids into the mix. Nothing ruins an intimate, romantic moment more than a screaming or (innocently) rambunctious child. Just be prepared for the dirty looks if it is not a kid-friendly place. I hope it is though, sounds like fun.

I've seen kids up there. It's a bar/lounge but they also serve food so that's how they get around it. If it was just a bar, you might have a problem. But trust me, kids are tolerated there. They just can't belly up to the bar. Also, the bar and the restaurant are two different sections. The restaurant is called the, well, Signature Restaurant.
