does the philips lumea precision hair removal actually work?

I am tempted to try the Philips Lumea Precision Hair Removal but i want to know for sure that they actually work before buying one. Seeing as they are so expensive, i don't really want to risk it without knowing if people actually recommend them or not. I've looked online at some reviews but i don't know whether i trust them or not.
Anyone ever tried one?
