own evolution? We have grown to such a consciousness, that instead of adapting to, we manipulate our own environment. So are we part of the process of selection as well?

And does this mean that we are in fact our own God? (don't mean to offend anyone)
 
Isn't manipulating our environment a certain form of adaptation?
