Does the National Guard do an inital drug test? And, if so will the not let you

Wow, you guys are harsh. My husbands cousin is trying to join the National Guard, he got arrested a few months ago and has been living off of us ever since. I just wanted to know how much longer I have to wait until he goes to basic. His recruiter told him to come pick up a letter saying he was going to join that he could give to the judge on his court date (10-1-09). His recruiter told mu husbad that he would be leaving in a couple of days after the court date. I was just wondering how much longer he is going to be living in my house. So, according to most of you, he will have to pass a drug test before he goes to basic? As far as I know he has THC in his system.
 
yes you have to take one and if you fail no you will not get, my husband is in the guard and he is deployed right now. one of our friends failed his drug teat and they told him "come back when he wanted to be a real man not not some drug head thats going no where fast "
 
Yes all branches of the military do an initial drug test, in fact you'll have to take a drug test before your recruiter will even finish your paper work to send you to MEPS ( military entrance processing station)
