Does the military keep BAS during Basic and AIT even if you are married?

I know that soldiers currently get a little bit more than 300 dollars for BAS. What I want to know is whether the military automatically deducts the BAS from your paycheck during Basic and/or AIT even though you have dependents.

Thank you.

Yes they take it......which I find amusing since they don't take it while you are deployed but hey whatever

Why the thumbs down I said they take it......the reason I said it was amusing was that the BAS is for the SM but yet they still receive it while deployed even though they are not using it

BAS is an eating allowance FOR YOU not your family! It is to pay for meals/food not provided for you by the military. It doesn't matter if you are married or single.

During Basic your meals are provided for you every day so you will not get BAS at all. During AIT you use the Mess, every time you use it the amount gets deducted from the BAS. They are not going to give you meals and then give you money to buy food.
