Does the media put too much pressure on us to be perfect?

I'm doing a piece of non fiction english coursework on how much pressure the media puts on us to be perfect and thought it would be good to add in some genuine peoples opinions and an average percentage of whether people think yes or no
Thanks x
If no can you state why? :)
and by media i mean all types of adverts and magazines and things like that :)

we accept it.. we buy the mags.
They just give the public what they buy the most of.
Think any of us would KNOW who the KARDASHIANS were if people didn't WATCH that crap?

I personally have never felt pressured by the media to be perfect. I know a lot of people say they have, but me personally I haven't. Everyone likes looking at pretty people. So that's why pretty people are on TV. But, I've never felt like I've needed to be super skinny like them or have flawless hair like them. I think it all comes down to insecurities in people, and that's why they use the excuse of "The media is pressuring people blah blah blah". If you are insecure of course it's going to be hard for you to see beautiful women or hot men on your TV screen who look perfect. Everyone knows that photoshop is used in every photoshoot. Why would you want to open a magazine and see a bunch of people with bad ache and stretch marks? I know I wouldn't.

But like I said, if you ask me it all comes down to people and there insecurities. I don't think the media is pressuring anyone.

Just look at how many adverts you see every day, how many different means it reaches us by, the ppl they use for the adverts....we are surrounded with shit that isnt even real, just projected images telling us whats cool, whats right and what to believe....its hell.

Its not so much the media..Its the ads on tv for clothing...They should have all diffrent size girls doing these ads...Not ever one is a 3/4
