What's worse is the corporate mainstream media uses its power to create public opinion that promotes the interests of the parent company.
Take a few hours and research General Electric for example. It has massive media holdings. It also profits from most things that government does: wars, war on terror, global warming, stimulus plan, banker bailing, and the list goes on and on. You don't hear a lot of diversity in opinion about those topics when viewing/reading GE-owned media - that's for sure!!!
