Does the media create conspiracy theories?

Is the reason there so many conspiracy theories about 9/11 etc. because people just do not trust the media anymore? If we can not believe the media, who do we believe?

the media stretches the truth to make the story on tv or news paper more interesting.

there is no belief unless you see it with your own eyes right?

if the media said that jeus was going to give birth to a baby cow im sure half the people would believe it and the other half left questioning unless they saw it himself

Actually, they are encouraged by the powerful. If the masses are caught up in nonsense it keeps them from concentrating on what is really going on, like the wealthy stealing from the poor or the wars on middle eastern countries. So, the mainstream media encourages it to a certain extent. Plus there's a whole industry built around conspiracy theories, JFK; 911; all the right-wing conspiracy theories involving Obama. Publishers know they can make money with this stuff. You always have to be careful when trying to figure out who you can believe.
