i am thinking about getting my first motorcycle and i really like these two, but i really want my new bike to have a passenger seat and be a sport cycle. Im pretty sure they have room for 2 but its hard to tell.
Can anyone tell me if they do? Also which do you think would be better for me the 250r or the 500r. Is there much of a difference. Is one much for powerful than the other?

Both those bikes have seats, the 250 isn't going to have very much room, the 500 will be a little better. If you plan on riding with a passenger often you may want to go with a cruiser, more comfortable, if you just want the option of carrying a passenger then go with a sport bike.

I would say go with the 500, 250's are so small you'll outgrow it in a month if not sooner, 500 wil last you a summer or two before you want to move up.

As for sport bike vs cruiser sport bikes are a lot of fun but are not very comfortable for you or a passenger. I think alot of people get them for the image or they like the look. I ride a cruiser, I like going for long relaxing rides, and taking my gf's for rides on the weekend and a cruiser is perfect for that type of thing. A sport bike is for fun, for the speed, for commuting or short rides.

Yes both bikes do have 2 seats. If this is your first bike, I would go with the 500 because you'll get tired of the 250 reeaal quick. I started off on a 600 for my first bike and learned with absolutely no problems. And yes a 500 is more powerful, as the cc's go up the more powerful the bike.
