Does the government provide financial support to foster parents?

Me and my husband would love to start our family through foster-adoption. However, we are not the richest people in the world and I was wondering if the state or fed. government helps us out with clothes, toys, food, etc. We are planning on fostering children aged 2 and younger. We may not have a huge bank account but we have big hearts and plenty of love to give away.
