Sure, 2000-4000 years ago, when the story of Eden was first popularized, the idea of a lush tropical garden with trees and grass, where food was easy to get and life was not full of constant toil SOUNDED great. It would not seem all that different from many people's idea of "heaven".
But now, we would not be satisfied there. Living in the open? With no TV? No Cable? No video games? No books or magazines? No internet?! Just sitting around all day relaxing WITH NOTHING TO DO WHILE RELAXING?!!1!
Have we become so removed from ancient times that the idea of The Garden of Eden no longer seems like a place we would want to be for more than an hour on a picnic (at most)?
