does the cricket android phone pick up a good signal?

I've had a cricket phone not to long ago, but it was the cheapest cam. phone they had and what could be afforded at the time, i constantly got dropped calls and texts that were sent to the phone an hour to two hours late. does anyone with a cricket phone, an android one in particular going through this? i really want the android but don't want to go through the same problems as before.
