A logical thinker would conclude that smoking pot during your recreational time is equal or lesser than getting drunk.

Thus skirting a marijuana drug test would not be in violation of ethics. I have my own set of ethics, not a government copy.
 
Yup. It's part of the hiring process. Once you are hired, they don't do random testing, but could test if you are involved in some way with an accident at work.
