does stereo watts and speaker watts have to be the same?

With out knowing what kind of stereo I'm by 200 watt that 50 watts x 4 peak about 25 watts rms. You can use anything with a 25 watts rms or higher. Example pioneer 6 1/2" 4 ways model TSA1682R or any brand with the same specs will do. I hope this helps.

They do not have to match. Keep in mind that car stereos don't really produce a lot of power. That 200 watts is peak at a particular frequency and it's divided by the number of outputs. In reality it might be producing 20 watts RMS per output. More speakers are burned up from being underpowered than overpowered.
