Does someone know of any "must read" photography books?

I am somewhat new to photography and I am falling in love with it. I would love to learn more. I know I can go searching for a book at the library but, just wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions about what books to check out. It could be about famous photographers also.

If you like a lighter read, with a light-hearted tone, I would look at some of Scott Kelby's books. He has three volumes to The Digital Photography Book. A lot of material is repeated in the books but even as an advanced amateur the books were interesting and I learned a few tricks that I hadn't known before. I would definitely recommend them to a beginner or an amateur and they are relatively inexpensive. I think I paid $14.95 for volume 1.
