does shutting off your pc for a while speed it up?

i normally restart my pc when it gets slow to stop some processes but i mostly leave it on alot. if i turn it off for a few hours will that speed up my computer. i also use the msconfig command in the run menu to stop the start up items and run aus logics disk defrag. alot.
oh i use ccleaner to.
 
No, it will not help, just cool down your system and unload everything stored in memory.
 
Turning it off doesn't matter. its the Rebooting that makes it run "faster" because programs have been reset (mostly Memory has been reset so you have more space) the more programs you run the more space that gets used up over time.
