Does retail theft still show on my BG check from when I was 16?

Ive been having an extremely hard time trying to find a job and I think one of the reasons is from when I got a ticket for retail theft. I was 16 at the time and now I'm 19 almost 20. I never paid off the ticket btw...I would have interviews but no call backs...is it because of my record popping up or i just suck at interviews?? lol
