does reel weight matter or no for surf and pier fishing?

hey i have two reels but im not sure what to pick...

one of them is really heavy but good its the (penn 750 SS)

my other one is lightweight but its hard to reel cause the handle is smaller then regular

so please help..does the reel of the weight really matter for saltwater fishing off a pier or surf fishing? please help
