Does PHP can use client's COM?

I included a excel report in one of my .php pages and put it in MS 2003 server that doesn't have ms office in it. when I try to access it remotely it wont work, i'm assuming its because the server doesn't have ms office. Is there any way that php will be using the client's com (the computer which accesses the server) or is there any other way that doesn't comply installation of ms office
