Does photography add weight to a person?

I have noticed that sometimes photographs add dimension to your whole body and make people look twice the size they actually are. There is also the saying, "the camera puts on weight". Or is the camera actually representing reality?
 
yes, when you are photographed, you literally become heavier. it is magic.
 
NO! The thing about photography is you have to know how to use light and pose a body.., you can take so many pouds off that way!

Video does add weight. I don't know why, but still cameras do not. They just record the light reflecting off your body. If you look fat in a photo, that's how you look to everyone else, too.
 
depends on the angle. one angle i look normal, another i look like a cow. it just depends on the angle you take the picture.
