Truthfully, I've been scared off of Petsmart forever. I went int there one time and half the firsh there (all the betta) had Ick. I've never ever had problems with Petco though. I would however suggest going to a local fish store since they don't have to abid by what "headquarters" says do and generally can give you alot more of an understanding for what you buy.
