Does Obama's taking over of GM make you more or less likely to buy a GM product?

Do you think its a good thing for politicians to use public money to further the goals of a particular political party?

Why do the banks get Billions more without any comment or details but the car-makers are getting BBQ'd for a fraction of the banks cost?

Is Obama using the car-makers as a distraction??

I cannot wait to buy a car at OBAMA motors do you think they will have the gay little circle flag on them and come in hot pink and every other color other than white....he has also trashed the constitution like they say Bush did welcome to Bush x3... what a jagged little pill

I would never buy another GM anyway, unless it was Z06, and now I wont even buy that. Everyone clap, Obama just put the death grip on GM.

He could bust the unions and cause a parts shortage so we can peddle our selves to work. The reality is systemic shut down to control. Is it intentional? I don`t know,do you.Less likely to buy because of high price of cars can no longer afford one.Banks control this country because money is the life blood of the economy and they seem to be controlling almost every thing.

The car is still made by Americans and making them creates American jobs.
It would not affect my decision.
I will always buy American.
Why do you people hate Americans so much?

I won't patronize American businesses that have been propped up with tax payer dollars, so I would not buy a GM product, period. From here on out, it is Ford products only.

Less, after buying my first Toyota five years ago I will never go back to buying American made cars as I have done for the last 35 years. Also, any entity that the government controls will be in a worst mess then before. The government has no business running a private industry, bail out money or not. Besides, this was a loan from the government like your bank gives you a loan to buy a house or car...should they be telling you what you need to do with your house or car?

yes he is using it as a distraction,...he knows very well that without the auto industry, America is sunk in the international economy.....

LESS LIKELY - meaning...I'll never buy a GM car if it's now controlled by Obama.
(one of my sons has a 2007 Pontiac G6 GT and it's tires and rims are all bad...it was the top of the line one with all the options.)

If they make a car with good mileage or better yet that doesn't run on gas THEN I WILL BUY GM

The choices are these.
Let the auto industry end in America.
Do what it takes to save the auto industry.
If GM fails the parts makers will all go under and all other auto makers in the US will too because their suppliers will all go belly up.
It is a lot easier to tear down ideas then to come up with a solution.

You could have broken some of these questions instead of asking all of them under one heading! Geeze!

Ok, 1.. makes no difference, we own what we own already and aren't in the market to buy new vehicles ... so no impact from that issue.

2. No I don't think it's good for politicians to use public money to further the goals of a political party. All funds should be private donations and there should be limitations........though it's not very realistic to think that would work since someone who is wealthy would simply give money to others to "launder" to his preferred party anyway.

3. banks receive more "funds" due to the reality that they are being urged to 'lend more funds' for the use of private citizens in purchasing, thereby stimulating our lagging economy.

4. nah.. I don't really believe Obama is using the car makers as a distraction, it's a real issue.
We need to keep as many people working and businesses running as we can.......... I just believe we should be doing this the old fashioned "free market" way where your customers dictate by demand. If you don't adapt you then have to re-organize and change to keep your customers..

I will buy a FORD product~ as I had good luck with the Ford products since
1974~~Mecury Granada~~~and I worked 30 plus years for Ford Motor

My reason is company loyalty , good quality and more bang for my buck

I would hope that people are able to hold more than one thought at a time.

Here it goes:

In October of 2008, President George Bush agreed to loan the Automakers money to operate until March of 2009. the condition of this loan was they had to come up with a viable plan of operations, or pay back the loan money. (ford declined the money)

March arrived, and the automakers presented the plans, they were so out of touch, and had grossly over estimated profits in the next year that they were rejected. GM was really bad off, since they have been operating at a loss for the last 5 years.

According to the original deal, the automaker should have been filing bankruptcy now. however, Obama gave GM capital to operate for an additional 90 days, and originally was going to let Chrysler file for bankruptcy. however Chrysler spoke with Fiat (who is also facing bankruptcy, but has more capital) about a merger. this plan was presented, and Obama agreed to give Chrysler operating capital for an additional 30 days.

Now somehow this has all been into "Obama is taking over the car companies". not true, but it is sink or swim time for them especially GM.

Note: during this time the last 5 years, both Chrysler and GM have continued to close factories in the US, and open new factories in Mexico.
