Will the E65 get an updated version with FP2, or will Nokia do something sly and introduce a new model like an e65i? Is that how they operate?

The e65 will have a firmware update in about a month that will add a 4mp camera to it, quad-band UMTS (for T-Mobile USA, Europe, and Cingular), Wifi 802.11n and a much brigther screen. In addition, the f/w update will add a new 1500mah battery and a fold out qwerty keypad.
