Does my dirt bike NEED a silencer.?

Soo i bought this bike off ebay and it doesnt look like the pipe has a silencer soo my question is do i need one the pipe is a DG so do i need a DG silencer or will anywork? and would it be super loud with out one.?
 
you do need to have the silencer, it not only will make it not as load but will serve as a spark arrester. Which is required in most ohv areas
