My family is new to the army and we are planning our vacation out in 2010. The subject of airfare was brought up in a conversation with a neighbor. She told me that I should never buy my tickets online. I am supposed to have my husband call in to the airline, and they will give him a very good discount because he is military. I would ask my neighbor again to give me more exact information on the subject, but she moved. My questions are: Is it just my husband or the whole family? Does it apply to vacations with proof that he has the approved paperwork to take leave? Is there some place on our base in which I could get discount flight tickets?
