Does jailbreak affect warranty of ipod ?

i Just jailbroke my ipod touch 2g that i got from bestbuy. when i bought it geeksquad gave me a warranty something called the black tie protection or something like that. I was just wondering if since i jailbroke my ipod does this break my warranty from geeksquad? If it does can i just restore my ipod and geek my warranty back? Please answer my question!
 
Im not sure about restoring but because your doing somthing ILLIGEIAL to your ipod touch that hasnt been approved by apple then yes it does affect it
