For the past two years, I've weight trained. Initially, I never noticed a problem with my blood sugar until maybe a year in when I started building more muscle mass. And as everyone knows, the more muscle your body has, the more calories you burn in a day. As I've continued working out, I've noticed it has become easier for me to get hypoglycemic during a workout, and even during the day during work or out and about when my body is at rest. Yesterday when I got up for work, my sugar was low right away. I was nauseous, light headed, and shakey. I downed a glass of OJ and started feeling better. When I take a week or so off from weight training, I notice my blood sugar doesn't drop as much/often. Does this sound like exercise has just boosted my metabolism to where I become hypoglycemic easily? Also, what should I do about preventing these damn attacks? It get's pretty damn annoying after a while.
