Like it or not, different cultures behave differently and are treated differently...for example, while I was in the seminary we were told that if we were sent to South America to serve that, when hearing confessions, it was okay for two guys to do anything they wanted to do with each other (sexually) and that only the 'anal receiver' should be considered 'in violation'...while in the U.S., even 'thinking a gay thought' was 'wrong'...go figure... It seems to me that the laity should be aware of 'the games' the churches are playing...I'm sorry, it's not so much or a 'religious' issue as a "CONTROL" issue...same goes for the government... Once people figure out that government and religion(s) play groups against each other (as a method of 'ruling/controlling' people)...society will become a 'better place' in which to live...
