Does It Matter if my dog swallows any of my fishes?

Recently my dog has gotten into the habit of swimming in my pond of koi and the other day i saw him swallowing a whole fish.
I am worried that this will become a regular occurrence as Reginald did seem to enjoy it.
Does this impose any health risks upon my dog (he is a Springer Spaniel)?
 
I wouldn't think it would hurt him, but its not the best Idea for your dog to be swallowing WHOLE koi. He could choke.


Could you put a fence around the pond?
 
the worst thing that could happen is that he chokes or gets some type of an upset stomach from the fish doody in the water, other than that i would just suggest you train the habbit away for the fish's sake
