Does it matter if it is like this?

i recently bought a dual 12" ported box. where the ports connect in the middle, there is no wood dividing the ports, so the two sub chambers are connected at the back of the port. Does it matter if there is no wood dividing the port into two ports? or should i buy some wood and fix it?
