Does it feel strange when shows that last for a long time finally come to an end?

Usually most shows don't last beyond 5 seasons or so, but sometimes shows go on for 10 years or more. When most of those "long lasting" series come to an end, it always feels strange, at least to me.

I think its because so much time in the real world passed as this show was going on, and if you were around for the beginning of it, you literally grew up along with the series. So you remember being younger and a kid/teen when the show premeired, and then you're like 20 something by the time it ends.

It always makes me say, "Wow, this show finally ended? There will never be another season again, that feels so strange to say."

For example when Simpsons finally ends, even if you hate the newer seasons, you have to admit you'll probably feel a strange sense of emotion when you realize, "That's it, they'll never make another new Simpsons season again."

And then I get nostalgic. Does this happen to anyone else?

It felt really weird not having the Real Ghostbusters on Saturday Morning after seven seasons. Granted, I stopped watching during the 'Slimer' takeover, but one day I was looking at ABC's lineup and said 'Wait... where are the Ghostbusters?'

It doesn't effect me right away when a show liked is canceled after a good long run, but when other shows that are equal to it haven't been made after it's cancelation, then it starts to feel like we've entered a new era. That's when we start feeling nostalgic for said show, and the impact it's made in our culture.

Yes, to me anyways. I remember thinking that it is going to be weird that I can never watch a new episode of Ed Edd n Eddy ever again after the movie.
