Does it cost to text a ipod with a verizon phone?

My friend has an ipod touch and i have a verizon enV2 and i want to know what it costs me... like does it cost the same as texting a at&t phone? or an email cost? (i have unlimited txting plan its unlimited to verizon and 500 to other companys) pleeasee HELP!!
