Does it cost extra to change your texting plan for Verizon?

Hi, there!

So my sister and I both have a texting plan for Verizon (both 500 per month), but because she texts way more than I do, I'd like to split my texting in a half (250) and give her unlimited. I heard rumors about having to pay a fee for changing my plan, though? Is it true? And if so, how much are the fees?

No it doesnt cost extra however if you charge it during the middle of the current billing cycle then you will incure prorated charges which can run anywhere from $20-$50 which is why people choose to change their plans at the start of the next billing cycle.
