Does it annoy anyone else what the media has done to the word "Ninja"?

It's pathetic.

Ninjitsu is a legitimate martial art - these martial artists were fierce warriors hundreds of years ago, now when someone says "Ninja" they think of an awkward fat guy in a black suit covering all but his eyes, with a plastic samurai sword and a goofy look.

Thank you, television.

well mr troll, they were considered dishonorable warriors by their peers.

in a pitched battle, when a warrior knows his life is endangered from all sides, attacking from behind is alright, when some one is in their home, sneaking in and killing them? even now that's considered pretty bad.

and the media does that with every thing. it did it w/ the samurai, it did it with knights, it did it with martial arts in general.

what i hate is kids like a friend of one of my ex's. i saw this kid in the mall, and he was wearing a naruto headband, he apparently has giant cardboard kunai, and shuirken...and a ninja suit, but it's like a royal navy blue....that's what i hate, i hate the people who prove the media's interpretation correct.
