I am a little confused because there are a lot of instances of imams around the Western world (who are supposed to be the most knowledgeable) requesting permission to do the call to prayer (Athan) on loudspeakers.
If tolerance and community spirit is taught, then why is hiding from your neighbours behind a veil and blasting calls to prayer such a popular activity among Muslims?
