Does homemade salsa need vinegar?

I made my first batch a week ago, and I'm pretty sure I forgot to add vinegar. The salsa is sealed in canning jars. I went through the entire canning process, but I think I forgot to add vinegar.

Can I open the jars and add it now? Or should I throw out the entire batch just to be safe?
