does he like me or just want sex?

so there's this guy i met off myspace that ive been talking to for maybe a month through online, texting and talking on the phone. im really starting to like him and we might meet up soon. the thing is, im a virgin, and hes not. and hes almost 5 years older than me, which isnt a huge age gap, but im only 18 and hes about to be 23. usually when i start talking to a guy, they ask about sex within the first day or two (like if im a virgin, etc). but with him, he never asked. i ended up tellin him that i was a virgin about a week ago and he told me he respected it and found it attractive and never really said anything more about it, so that told me that he wasnt just after sex because he didnt keep talking about it like most guys, and i was the one who initiated the conversation.. then last night, we were having a conversation and sex was brought up again. this time, he really got into the convo and made it very clear that he does want sex (what guy doesnt) but im kind of amazed at how long it took him to actually show it. so my question is, would you think he is just after sex? or do you think he really likes me? of course sex is going to come up in a conversation at some point in time, but how do you know when a guy talks to you about it if they really like you or just want sex?
