Does having a right to bear arms promote violent gun culture?

I was reading about the US Bill of Rights, what it actually says is "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
Nothing about everyone being armed to the teeth. Still, I don't have to live there thankfully, not my business.

Yes. Compare the amount of violent crimes with guns compared to most other countries. The US has a higher crime rate!

no,violent gun culture meaning GANGS?because greed and quick money promotes gangs not guns, plenty of people have guns but do not like violence.most people owning a gun want to protect themselves, a criminal would think twice about robbing a home if they thought the owner was packing some.

REMEMBER ONLY LAW ABIDE-RS OBEY THE LAW,CRIMINALS GET THERE GUNS ILLEGALLY SO TOUGHER GUN LAWS WOULD ONLY HANDICAP THE LAW ABIDE-RS .IF THEY OUTLAWED GUNS ONLY THE CRIMINALS WOULD HAVE THEM.

No, I think this country needs much more better regulation laws on who can own a gun. And when your talking about a violent gang culture, this isn't caused by having the right to own guns, its caused by poverty and violence and looking up to the unstable thugs who glamorize them.

Apart from that, both my Grandmas own guns because they live by themselves, and so does my aunt, I co sign basic needs, they need to be able to protect themselves from possible rapists and murderers, its all to do with protection with them and the majority.

Also when I was in the UK, there were a lot of wannabe gangsters who tried to imitate the gang culture from the US, forming lil ''crews'' etc now guns aren't legal there but I knew a lot of people who somewhat glamorized it.

I'm not so sure it does.

In the UK ( in fact in all civilised countries) we do not have the right to bear arms but the professional criminals all have them. We have a violent gun culture even although we do NOT have the right to bear arms.

having said that, if I lived in the USA, I wouldn't go out my front door unless I was "packing". Too many nutters.

no i live by myself and i havea gun...you never know what kind a lunatic might try to brake in and rob or rape me... sometimes its just for protection

No, it allows you to protect yourself and your property.

1. If all the guns were taken away, there will be a large increase in robberies because Criminals would no longer need to think twice about robbing a home because their life is no longer in danger. Remember criminals are opportunists.

2. You can create as many Gun Control laws as you want but the Criminals will always have weapons because criminals do not get their weapons from a gun store. They can not because you can not have a violent crime history and purchase a weapon from a store. So the only people that will be affected are good homeowners who have no criminal backrounds are are trying to protect themselves and their families. Criminals get their weapons usually smuggled in from other countries, that is the only way they can get weapons.

3. Many people would killed from all the extra home invasions that will occur because of this.

4. Yes, there are options such as 911 that you can call if there are emergencies but what if you reside in a neighborhood where they don't come until 30 minutes later. What about the people that live in some rural communities where the police do not come until maybe up to an hour.

Well, it sure as hell doesn't not promote it. The fact that there are so many guns in America creates a violent gun culture when combined with the violent disposition that many people have. There has been a rash of incidents where people just went berserk and shot random people recently. It's scary how easy it is for a person to get a gun in many places. We need either better regulation or a ban on gun ownership.
