Does Fox Even Watch Their Own 4KIDSTV Block?

I was watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fast Forward, and they aired a commercial for saved by the Bell that listed the schedule as

"6:30 Saved By The Bell
7:00 The Adrenaline Project
7:30 Fox Kids"

...So they're not even considering The Adrenaline Project as part of the block, like the Menu... And don't they remember that they canned Fox Kids years ago? Either Fox is just calling it that for simplicity's sake, as they probably can't keep up with all of 4kids's name changes, or they honestly don't even check their own Saturday morning programming.

I few things about that:

1. 4Kids TV is NOT a Fox block. It only gives the right of first refusal to Fox. In some markets it airs on CW or MyNetworkTV, sometimes on Sunday. Also, 6:30 isn't part of the block. The block only goes from 7 to 11. Saved by the Bell is aired by your local Fox affiliate, no 4Kids.

2. Fox and Saban didn't abandon Fox Kids. Saban sold all its assets to Disney because they were losing money. This includes the old Fox Kids shows and Fox Family Channel. Fox then sold their Saturday morning block to 4Kids. 4Kids determines what airs on the block, not Fox.

My affiliate still aired ads for Bratz even when the show was off the air. Heck for a while you could still see Fox Box ads. Affiliates are dumb and clueless *shrugs* It's like my local TV guide still listing 'Power Rangers Zeo' well into Wild Force!

And to be fair 4KidsTV only changed named once, when going from FoxBox to 4KidsTV. I don't know where everybody got the idea that 'The GameStation' was the block's new name...it's clearly a sort of title they give themselves for marketing purposes.

Yeah, it's still called 4KidsTV. "The Game Station" is just a subtitle that they added to the block.

I would think that FOX does pay attention to the block but cares only to see that it meets E/I requirements. Whether they care about the shows themselves is doubtful.

Ill also figure it's local.

Back when MIB was on tv, we didn't get the WB channel. That also meant no Pokemon, so weekday mornings and saturdays, our local UPN did some weird thing where it switched to WB for just pokemon.

Nothing is more frustrating than seeing "Later today! MIB!" as a bumper commercial-- and then watching UPN go from showing cartoons, to paid advertisements after pokemon aired.

I'm not sure if they still paly it since The CW came out, but Kids WB used to have bumper with TTA!, Batman Beyond, Looney Tunes, Pikachu, and etc as a promo for the network in whole

Yeah that happened in several areas. Apparently in areas where there was no WB affiliate, another station would show Pokemon, WB's biggest show. Pretty clever, if you ask me.

I absolutely hated it.

I wanted MIB but couldnt get WB. So I settled with watching the cartoon block on UPN.

So what do they do? cover what I was going to watch, with a show I didn't want to watch-- and on top of it, air the commercials for the show I REALLY wanted to watch.

The last time I enjoyed the cartoons on TV for our home area, had been in the 80's. When networks started messing with our meager lineup, I lost interest in a lot of what was on.

If u get Boston Feed, you're set(Except the ABC Affiliates air their blocks on both days and we never get Power Rangers). You get connecticut feed right Veemonjosh?

I get Fox44 WFFF Burlington-Platsburg-Montreal. They are the Fox affiliate but have/had WB and CW programming.

They once aired only like...half of the KidsWB block early early on saturday morning, like 5 AM to 8 AM, airing Pok?mon mostly, then followed by the Fox block du jour. Off course this meant they aired the PREVIOUS WEEK'S KidsWB, not the one of the current week since it would be too early. The afternoon shows were aired on weekday MORNINGS... and so they too had to be bumped a day.

Then when KidsWB dropped the afternoon slots and made KidsWB into 5 hours, my station split it in five 1 hour blocks they aired on weekday morning. I was always nearly a week late for the Batman and Legion talk back.

This season though they dropped it in favor of...more infomercials -- and some random syndicated sitcom. I haven't been paying attention so I don't know if they even still air CW programs!

That's messed up.

I remember when the local WB affiliate didn't air Kids! WB at all. WCIU, a local Chicago station, had the rights, Pokemon and all, and aired it on Sunday Mornings. The local Fox affiliate had Fox Kids, but after it became the Fox Box the UPN affiliate picked it up, and continues to hold onto it currently, name change and all. When UPN scooped up the Fox Box the local WB affiliate grabbed the Kids! WB block from WCIU, and moved it to Saturdays to face Fox Box/4kids TV head on, and that's the situation where it is today.

The moral of this story: Broadcast channels and affiliates are insane.

Thank you.

What about FOX affiliates in Milwaukee, Cleveland, Detroit, Atlanta, Birmingham (Alabama), Kansas City, Miami, and Phoenix that don't get FOX Kids/FOX BOX/4 Kids on the FOX station and other local stations in the series carry 4 Kids or don't have 4 Kids?

My local stations, FOX29 Philadelphia, UPN57 (now CW Philly 57), and WB17 (now myphl17) has never had a strange history of airing their kids' blocks. No "half of it on sunday mornings, no affiliate of WB so Pokemon airs on UPN" or any of that. Just the normal block. But I do think it's strange that your station would say that 4Kids starts at 7:30 and refer to it as Fox Kids. Most affilates probably don't care about the block, they're still waiting to replace it with a Saturday Morning edition of the local Good Day show.
