Does Facebook updates from a text message cost extra money on Verizon?

I understand how to setup the mobile facebook, but I am not currently on a data plan (I pay per Mb usage). Would updating my status on facebook through text messaging be included on the data transfer (or would any extra costs apply)?

phone: LG cosmos
Network: Verizon Wireless
Plan includes free text messages, but no data plan.
