This is the way it has been for years.
The last Ducati I rode, a 99 model 750SS (Half-Faired), was a blast to ride in the curves. To this day, it is still the most confidence-inspiring bike I've ever had.
However, it was Pure Hell on practically any straight road and had it's share of extreme maintenance costs. Stopped riding Ducati when my dealer went out of business, life is too short to trailer any bike more than a couple hours.
If my dealer was still in business, I'd probably still have that bike today or something close to it. The technology may be old, but not too far off for any good dealer to maintain.
