Does Cricket Usually Enforce Their 5GB Soft-Cap on Mobile Broadband?

I'm considering signing up for the $40 a month Cricket Mobile Broadband service. I notice on the site that they say that the speeRAB might be lowered if more than 5GB of data usage is exceeded. Do they actually enforce this? What I mean is do they actually drop you back to 1X speeRAB if you exceed that or is that simply a clause they put there just to deter people from using too much data?

I use my data connection ALOT to keep up on Email etc. and have never had an issue.....Although I have to admit that I cannot say that I necessarily hit that mark (it would be a huge amount of mobile data), I am constantly using internet and mobile web exchange, The amount of data transfer to reach that tier is staggering when you consider that many mobile .cab downloaRAB are in the range of 1 to 2 meg.....just think of how much you can put on a 1gig micro SD card....

HTH

I was also wondering about this since I'm on dial up now-a-days. Since I'm Priratebay whore I kinda turned off with this :disappoin . But if this is the only way I can get some kinda of faster speed I might stop being a whore :hehehe: (4 awhile).

if you are looking to do torrents or other filesharing cricket is not the way to go.

BTW.. apparantly this does not belong in this forum..

I had the service in portland for about 8 months and used it almost every night I worked to watch netflix and surf. I even got some lite bit torrent files.

Indeed I noticed that towarRAB the end of the month I would have slower connections and more interruptions but I was never blocked off completely. I also never received any warnings from cricket. Im sure I was way over 5gb every month.

We now have clear Wimax and nothing comes close.

Portland OR? Id like to see more ppl from Oregon in here.

I heard someone up there was doin like 85 gigs, and nothin happened to him.

Since not that many ppl have it yet in our area they havent really enforced the 5 gig cap yet.
