Does Costochondritis Not Go Away?

God is my Judge

In July of 2007 I was diagnosed with costochondritis caused my some awkward heavy lifting I had been doing for weeks. The doctor gave me 5 days of prednisone and it seemed to pretty much clear it up.

Ever since that time, though, I have noticed that I had been experiencing some of the same symptoms, just not that severe. I will get dull, sharp pains in one spot on the left side of my sternum, above my left breast, and to the left of my left breast. It only lasts a few seconds and comes and goes for a few minutes.

Is it possible for costochondritis to not clear up fully?

The term *itis* refers to inflammation and costochondral refers to your ribs or the cartilage around them. As in all inflammations (tendonitis) you have to let it heal with some rest before you pursue your bodybuilding full force, again or have a recurrence of your original injury. Hope this helps. :)
