Does BEV carry these Russian channels in HD?

Hello folks. I took a look at the sticky FAQ above with 2008 line up...but it only has 2 posts in it and no links so couldn't find out on my own.

We watch channel 634 and 639 which are both russian and would like to try BEV because we do not like the way Rogers works at all.
We get constant freeze ups on channel 639 (tech guy came few times to gix and replace the STB) but nothing.

and channel 639 has sound out of sync very very often.
I'd like to know if those 2 channels are available on BEV so we could try it out and see how is the quality (i live in downtown and my balcony looks straight to downtown with no interference building between it and CN Tower)
 
I don't think Bell carries any international HD channels, but wait for someone to confirm for sure
As far as getting a dish installed, you may be facing too far south
To be able to receive Bell, you have to face south west, so if you can see the CN Tower, I would guess you have a chance to get it, but won't know for sure until its setup
A good check would be to look at your neighbors above, and below you with the same unit #, and see if they have dishes installed, as that will be the easiest way to figure it out
 
There is no International channels in HD yet, and probably not a priority considering that EV is missing important English HD channels still

The Russian channel on EV are:
NTV:720
RTVi :722
RTVi +:721
*Russian combo 35$

What is 634 and 639? Are those EV channels? Internationnal channel are usually in the 700...
 
It would help if you told us the names of the channels, I know they are on Rogers but that is all.
 
I recall receiving a few calls about "freezing issue" on certain international channels, I just don't recall on which international channel

The issue comes from the channel, not from EV...
 
Have you checked your signal strength and S/N Ratio on those channels? See:

Also make sure there is nothing upstream of the STB like a poor splitter, VCR, etc Remove it temporarily if there is anything. Check the cable from the wall to the STB.
 
Just went to Rogers web site (as complicated as Bell to naviguate)...

Russian channel on Roger are:
634 NTV Canada (Russian)
636 RTVi (Russian)
637 WMNB (Russian)
638 RTVi+ (Russian)
639 Channel One Russia

On Express Vu you would loose 637 and 639...
 
Sorry guys. I made the post half asleep as you can tell by the post time.

I didn't mean in HD. I meant in SD.
the 634 is NTV Russia on Rogers
the 639 is Channel One Russia on Rogers

Looks like by Ex_Agent's post that they offer 3 channels, and 1 of them is the one i want 634 (NTV) but missing the most important one is which is 639 (Channel One Russia).

Basically in the new apartment we will be moving, I was deciding wether to go BEV or Rogers but looks like it will have to be Rogers because they have the channel that we need.
