Does Asus build toshiba products i.e motherboards?

Hi, Just wondering if its true Asus makes Toshiba products? and if so do they still do it? Whats better if i were to get laptop TOshy or Asus?
I'm looking at the Asus M51 series and Toshiba M300 (asus has more gadgets) but i have never bought Asus before...
