Does Apple plan to enable Bluetooth to function for file transfer on the iPhone?

Most other phones allow for simple file transfer using Bluetooth, but on the iPhone when you attempt this it is not supported.
Does Apple intend to "catch up" with the others on this rather fundamental cell phone function?
