The whole purpose of this short story was to envision a world that was fair, where everyone was equal. So anyone with out a disability was given one, e.g. this man was weighed down with sheet metal to stop him from essentially being agile. But this man had had enough and tore it off, along with the hideous mask a beautiful woman was forced to wear so she didn't have the advantage of being beautiful. They were on TV, I believe in a play and were jumping incredibly high before they were shot by some lady in the government. The boy's mom was watching it on tv and started to cry at the death of her son, but 7 seconds later forgot why she was crying because she was given short term memory loss as a disability.
